Privacy Policy for Vickery Technical Services App

Vickery Technical Services (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our desktop application (the “App”) accesses, collects, uses, and shares your data when you use our services.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

  1. What Data We Access and Collect

Our App is designed to help you manage and view your Microsoft Office 365 Teams calendar events. To provide this functionality, the App accesses delegated calendar data from your Microsoft Office 365 account via the Microsoft Graph API, with your explicit consent.

The specific data categories we may access and display to you include:

  • Calendar Event Details: This includes the subject, start and end times, time zones, event body/description, location (including online meeting links like Microsoft Teams meeting URLs), and status of your calendar events.
  • Attendee Information: For meetings, we may display the names and email addresses of attendees.
  • User Profile Information (Basic): To facilitate your sign-in, we may access basic profile information such as your name and email address from your Microsoft account.

We do not collect or store your Office 365 credentials. All authentication is handled securely through Microsoft’s authentication mechanisms (Microsoft Authentication Library – MSAL), and we only receive an access token that allows our App to make authorized requests on your behalf to the Microsoft Graph API.

  1. How Data is Accessed and Used

2.1 Accessing Your Data

The App accesses your calendar data directly from your Microsoft Office 365 account using the Microsoft Graph API. This access requires you to sign in with your Microsoft account and grant specific permission (e.g., Calendars. Read, User. Read). You control these permissions and can revoke them at any time through your Microsoft account settings.

2.2 Use of Collected Data

The data accessed by the App is used solely for the purpose of displaying your calendar information within the App to you, the user.

Specifically, your data is used to:

  • Display Your Calendar Events: Show your meetings, appointments, and other calendar entries.
  • Provide Meeting Details: Present information such as meeting subjects, times, attendees, and links to online meetings (e.g., Teams meetings).
  • Facilitate App Functionality: Enable the core features of the App as intended by you.

The data accessed by our App remains on your local device for the duration of your session and is not stored on our servers or shared with Vickery Technical Services. The App acts as a client-side viewer for your calendar data.

  1. How Data is Stored and Secured

Since the App processes your calendar data locally on your device and does not store it on our servers, the security of your data is primarily dependent on the security of your device and your Microsoft account.

  • On Your Device: Any data retrieved from Microsoft Graph is transiently held in your computer’s memory while the App is running, for the purpose of display. It is not persistently stored by the App on your local disk.
  • Microsoft Graph API Security: Our App relies on the robust security measures implemented by Microsoft for the Microsoft Graph API and Office 365 services. Microsoft employs extensive security protocols, encryption, and compliance certifications to protect your data at rest and in transit within their systems.
  • Authentication: The App uses the Microsoft Authentication Library (MSAL) for secure user authentication, adhering to industry best practices for OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
  1. Data Sharing

Vickery Technical Services does not share your personal data or calendar information accessed by the App with any third parties.

The App is designed for individual use and does not transmit your calendar data to us or any external services. Your data remains within your Microsoft Office 365 environment and is displayed only on your local device.

  1. Your Data Protection Rights

Since we do not store your personal data, requests regarding your data (access, correction, deletion) should be directed to Microsoft, as they are the data controller for your Office 365 calendar information.

However, you have control over the permissions granted to our App:

  • You can revoke the permissions granted to our App at any time through your Microsoft account settings in the Azure portal or your Microsoft Account privacy dashboard.
  • You can uninstall the App from your device at any time, which will remove all access to your calendar data through our App.
  1. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
